Miami-Dade County Public Schools recently received the coveted 2012 Broad Prize for Urban Education for making the greatest progress in raising achievement among the country’s 75 urban school districts.  YPO-WPO will honor Carvalho as one of the most effective, progressive and acclaimed urban school system leaders in the nation. 

YPO-WPO and Strategic Forum were created in 1950 to share their insights on the value of a peer network and trusted mentors, the importance of ongoing education, and the need for a “safe haven” where issues can be aired in an environment of confidentiality.
