SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS ALBERTO M. CARVALHO AND MAYOR CARLOS A. GIMENEZ, TO HOST SECOND JOINT ROUNDTABLE ON YOUTH SAFETY WITH LOCAL LEADERS
Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho and Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez will host a second joint roundtable discussion on Youth Safety with local officials on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 3 p.m., at the media center of Miami Senior High School. The school is located at 2450 SW. 1st St. (parking available at the northeast corner of the school at S.W. 24th Ave. and W. Flagler St.). (MEDIA AVAILABILITY AT 2:45 P.M.)
The Roundtable will unite local leaders, including mayors and police chiefs of various municipalities and community stakeholders within Miami-Dade to discuss recommendations related to public safety initiatives in light of the recent senseless acts of violence. The focus of the Roundtable will be the safety of our community’s youth in schools, parks and neighborhoods. The objective is to share successful practices, discuss current challenges and define helpful recommendations for short and long-term solutions.
