M-DCPS STUDENTS TO ENJOY EVENING OF READING WITH Students from Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles K-8 Center will be able to learn about the creative writing process and also discuss the thought-provoking fantasy novel, “The School for Good and Evil,” with award-winning author and filmmaker Soman Chainani. The event will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the school’s media center. Chainani’s first novel, which debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List, is a fantasy series set in a world where every four years two children are chosen to attend a prestigious school where fairy tale heroes and villains are made. Chainani, who is a South Florida native, is one of the authors taking part in this month’s Miami Book Fair International. He also has written numerous screenplays and his recent work including an upcoming feature musical, “Mumbo Jumbo.”
