DIGITAL LEARNING DAY AT MIAMI JACKSON SENIOR HIGH

Eight hundred educators participated in one of the largest professional training days in district history. Miami-Dade County Public Schools teamed up with 30 of its educational and technology partners, including Discovery Education, McGraw-Hill, Microsoft and Promethean USA to train the district’s educators on how to best utilize digital content and technology to maximize student engagement while increasing achievement.

“Digital Learning Day has provided educators in Miami-Dade County Public Schools with an opportunity to become acquainted with a myriad of technological tools that are literally at our fingertips.  The utilization and understanding of technological terminology provides an educational landscape that allots opportunities for collaborative teaching and learning,” said Jennifer Murray, a teacher at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School.

The training sessions used interactive technologies such as Promethean boards and other digital devices. Trainers and educators worked together and explored the collection of digital content available to all students in the district.

Hundreds of Miami-Dade County Public Schools educators learned ways to integrate digital media into their classrooms.

Miami-Dade educators learned about dynamic technology programs and the many digital resources available for their use.
