SOUTH MIAMI MIDDLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL CENTER FOR THE ARTS SELECTED AS PRESTIGIOUS ARTS ACHIEVE! MODEL SCHOOL

South Miami Middle Community Center for the Arts was recently named an Arts Achieve! Model School by the Florida Alliance for Arts Education (FAAE). South Miami Middle is one of seven schools to be selected for this coveted recognition.

The Arts Achieve! School program honors schools that provide exemplary arts programs, instructional settings, arts integration programs, community partnerships and other factors. Once selected, these schools agree to allow visitors in their schools who want to improve or enhance their arts education practices for a three-year period.

South Miami Middle Community Center for the Arts provides opportunities for every student to become a responsible, thinking citizen through an extended family of teachers, parents, students, community and business leaders working and learning together in a safe, caring environment to develop knowledge of careers, technology, the arts and social skills as they relate to the world of work and individual future planning. The school offers arts programs including band, broadcast arts, chorus, dance, orchestra, photography, theatre and visual arts.

FAAE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving, enhancing and promoting arts education in Florida. The Model Schools will be publically recognized at the annual Leadership Summit on June 20 in Orlando.
