iSWIM WATER SAFETY PROGRAM KICKS OFF AT GREENGLADE ELEMENTARY

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho, School Board member Dr. Marta Perez, iSwim instructors, Greenglade Elementary School’s first-grade students, parents and staff

WHAT:

Kickoff of the iSwim program - dedicated to the promotion of keeping youth safe through water safety education, awareness, and swimming and water safety skills.

WHY:

The event marks the 40th anniversary of the school district’s Learn to Swim and Water Safety Education Program. This program is a result of an agenda item proposed by Dr. Perez at the July 2014 School Board meeting, to collaborate with local agencies and ensure that the youngest and most vulnerable children are taught swimming skills to save their lives.
