M-DCPS IS SEEKING PROJECT ARCHITECTS AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRMS FOR GOB PROJECTS

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has released Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for five substantial projects funded by the General Obligation Bond (GOB). Melrose Elementary School, Kinloch Park Middle School and Miami Northwestern Senior High School will undergo major upgrades and renovations. Frederick Douglass and Bunche Park elementary schools will be completely replaced with new state-of-the-art school prototypes.

The solicitations are currently seeking Architecture/Engineering firms, as well as Construction Management at-Risk (CMR) firms to carry out the projects listed below:

  • Renovation of the facilities at Melrose Elementary, Kinloch Park Middle and Northwestern High. Solicitations for these projects have been grouped to promote equitable distribution of work. The construction budget for each school is as follows:
    • Melrose Elementary - $4,630,375
    • Kinloch Park Middle - $5,005,270
    • Northwestern High - $5,639,904

The current solicitation for replacement facilities at Frederick Douglass and Bunche Park elementaries are for Architecture/ Engineering firms only. The construction work for these projects will be competitively bid at later date. The construction budget for each school is as follows:

    • Frederick Douglass Elementary - $5,153,187
    • Bunche Park Elementary - $5,324,868

All projects include mandatory Small Business Enterprise (SBE)/ Micro Business Enterprise (MBE) sub-consultant goals in order to ensure that local SBE and MBE firms have the maximum opportunity to do business with the Miami-Dade School Board, and to provide equal opportunity for all segments of the contracting community.
