M-DCPS HOSTS BOND PROJECT KICK-OFF EVENT AT
MIAMI NORTHWESTERN SENIOR

Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho, School Board member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, District 2, and community leaders gathered at Miami Northwestern Senior High School today for a kick-off event for bond projects resulting from the overwhelming voter approval of the $1.2 billion General Obligation Bond. The bond will be used to modernize and construct school buildings throughout the district, expand student capacity, enhance facility safety, and provide technology upgrades at all schools.

Miami Northwestern Senior renovations valued at close to $8 million include, the replacement of two air conditioning central chillers, repair/replacement of air conditioning system components and temperature controls, selective electrical wiring replacement, stage/theater lighting replacement, pavement resurfacing and restriping, replacement of basketball goals, netting over courtyard, exterior painting, gas piping repair, gutters and downspouts, selective exterior and interior door and hardware replacement, selective ceiling repair/replacement, selective flooring replacement, security alarm repair/replacement, elevator repairs and cab replacement, portable removal and site restoration.
