M-DCPS REFUGEE PROGRAM COORDINATOR GIVES KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT SUCCESS PATHWAYS GRADUATION

Maria Miranda, coordinator for the Skills for Academic, Vocational and English Studies (S.A.V.E.S.) program, was the keynote speaker at the recent graduation for SUCCESS PATHWAYS students.

S.A.V.E.S. is an innovative refugee/asylee/entrant program that meets the instructional and employment needs of adult refugees/asylee/entrant.

The SUCCESS PATHWAYS program is designed to help at risk students graduate from high school.  The event was held at The English Center, which is part of M-DCPS’ adult education division.  This division is tasked with developing students' vocational, social, technological, physical, and emotional potential in a wholesome, self-paced, supportive environment. It has been in existence since the early 1960s.
