M-DCPS SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM RECEIVES $100,000 CHECK FROM JPMORGAN CHASE & CO.

MIAMI – JPMorgan Chase & Co. presented a $100,000 check to Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho and members of the Miami-Dade School Board to expand the school system’s NAF (National Academy Foundation) summer internship program. The investment from JPMorgan Chase will help support expansion of the program to 500 students. Student interns in the program have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in top growth industries, earn college credit, build their resume, and get access to mentoring and coaching, including transportation, technology, and healthcare.

The internship program is open to students who participate in the NAF career academy programs of Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism or Health Science.

Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho, School Board Chair Perla Tabares Hantman, Board Members, District staff, and NAF student interns, are joined by South Florida Market Leader Guillermo Castillo and JPMorgan Chase representatives who presented a $100,000 check for the District’s NAF summer internship program.
