M-DCPS TO OBSERVE TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS TO WORK DAY ON APRIL 10, 2015 DUE TO SEVERAL ASSESSMENTS Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, April 10, 2015 instead of the national observance of April 23, 2015 to minimalize disruptions to testing (FCAT 2.0, FSA, FAIFS, and FSA EOC). Designed to be more than a career day, the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day program goes beyond the average “shadow” an adult experience. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their life does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life does more. Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day provides them an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps towards their end goals.
