SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT ALBERTO M. CARVALHO HONORED WITH FBI DIRECTOR’S COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho has been awarded the FBI Director’s 2014 Community Leadership Award in recognition of his work enhancing students’ academic enrichment. The announcement was made last December and FBI Director James Comey personally presented the award today in Washington, D.C.

Superintendent Carvalho was chosen for his success in elevating the District’s academic profile and streamlining the District’s business and financial practices. The FBI also cited the Superintendent’s work with Success Academy Tutoring, Terra Environmental Research Institute, the $1.2 billion GO Bond initiative, the Digital Transformation, the 2012 Broad Prize for Education, The College Board’s “AP District of the Year” award and M-DCPS’ recent accreditation, making it the largest fully accredited school district in the world.

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho was honored today with the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award.
