Miami-Dade County Public Schools' most outstanding teacher will be named at the annual Francisco R. Walker Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel/Convention Center, 711 N.W. 72 Ave.

Seven finalists have been nominated from the system's six administrative regions and its Bureau of Adult/Vocational, Alternative Education & Dropout Prevention.

The region or office represented, the nominees, the grades or subjects they teach, and the schools are as follows:

Corporate sponsor of the event is HIP Health Plan of Florida, one of the country's largest HMOs with more than 50 years of experience. Additional sponsors include Miami-Dade County Public Schools, United Teachers of Dade, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, NOVA Southeastern University, the PTA/PTSA of Miami-Dade County and WPLG-TV Channel 10.
