Miami-Dade County Public Schools Division of Social Sciences/Special Programs will present its African-American History Book and Technology Conference '99, titled Make It Happen, on Monday, April 19, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Wyndham Hotel, 1601 Biscayne Blvd.

The conference is geared toward enriching the acadernic delivery of African-American history for educators, parents, students, and community partners who work together to Make It Happen. Its featured speaker is BeBe Moore-Campbell, the bestselling author of Brothers and Sisters. Other conference highlights include book signings, art exhibits, and student performances. Breakout sessions will provide instructional strategies that support the implementation of African-American history through technology and a variety of resource materials.
