April 29, 1999

Students participating in the 500 Role Models of Excellence Project in five high schools will attend a Teen Health Symposium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 30.

To be held in the conference center of North Shore Hospital, 1100 N.W. 95 St., the symposium allows the students to discuss their health concerns with physicians, nurses, counselors, and other health care practitioners.

A presentation by law enforcement officers on "Police and Youth Relations" will include a discussion on school-based crime and the recent shootings in Littleton, Colorado.

Students from MacArthur North, Miami Beach, Miami Jackson, Miami Norland, and South Miami high schools will take part in the symposium, which is one of a series held monthly in local hospitals. For more information, call the Role Models' office at 305-995-2451.
