If you see a procession of pint-sized "hippies" wearing love beads, tie-dyed T-shirts, bellbottoms, and platform shoes around Auburndale Elementary School at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, just relax, you’re not having a flashback.

The school’s fifth graders will represent the 1960s in a parade commemorating the 50th anniverary of Auburndale Elementary, which is located at 3255 S.W. 6 Street.

Also in the parade will be fourth graders, dressed in 1950s attire. The parade is one of a series of week-long events, culminating in a student production of the musical “Grease,” a cake-cutting, and burying a time capsule on Friday, Dec. 9.

For more information, call Auburndale principal Raquel S. Muñoz at 305-445-3587.
