OFFICE OF BUDGET MANAGEMENT WINS NATIONAL AWARD

The Miami-Dade school district's Office of Budget Management recently won a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2002 fiscal year from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

Established in 1984, the Budget Awards Program encourages governments to prepare budget documents of the highest quality to meet the needs of decision-makers and citizens.

M-DCPS also recently earned GFOA's certificate of achievement for its 2002 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

GFOA, a nonprofit association serving more than 12,500 government finance professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada, annually evaluates the financial reports and budget presentations of school systems.
