M-DCPS STUDENT NAMED SEMIFINALIST IN SCIENCE COMPETITION

Ellina Gendlina, a student at North Miami Beach Senior High School, has been named a semifinalist in the Siemens Westinghouse Competition. Her research project, Adult Onset of Familial Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy Associated Cardiac Troponin I Mutations and Their Physiological Effects In Vitro, was selected from 1,142 entries nationwide to be one of 17 semifinalist entries from Florida.

The competition recognizes remarkable and talented students who challenge themselves through scientific research.
