MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO HOST HIV/AIDS LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Miami-Dade County Public Schools' HIV/AIDS Education Program will host the third annual Youth Leadership Summit on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at South Miami Hospital's Victor C. Clarke Educational Center, 6200 S.W. 73rd St.

The summit's mission is to educate and inspire youth leaders to become peer educators in HIV prevention. Young people represent nearly 50 percent of all new HIV infections in the United States. The summit will focus on this year's World AIDS Day theme: "I Care...Do You??? Youth and AIDS in the 21st Century."

The summit will feature A.T. Turner of HOT 105 FM radio, Dr. Marilyn Volker and performance group Speaking Hands.
