An audit of accounts payable operations of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) brought praise from the independent group that conducted it.

"Our review indicated that the accounts payable function is well managed and controlled as evidenced by the lack of material findings," said James P. Baker, Vice President of Audit Services for The Profit Recovery Group, an independent audit firm. His comments appeared in a report presented to M-DCPS' Audit Committee by Rodolfo Rodriguez, the school district's controller.

The company reviewed more than 183,000 electronic transactions totaling approximately $752 million. Of that total, 99.9977 percent of transactions were processed perfectly.

The audit was requested last year by The School Board of Miami-Dade County.
