M-DCPS ACTIVATES SCHOOL SAFETY HOTLINE October 26, 2001 The Miami-Dade Schools Police Department has activated a 24-hour hotline, "1-877-7BE BRAVE" (1-877-723-2728), designed to encourage people to report planned or suspected acts of violence in or around Miami-Dade County public schools, thus reducing the possibility of serious incidents. Activated in conjunction with the Florida Sheriffs Task Force, 30 Florida counties will be participating in this initiative. School Resource Officers will distribute banners announcing the "Be Brave" hotline, along with other promotional materials, to all secondary school principals.
