CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO
DISTRIBUTE SCHOOL SUPPLIES
TO PHILLIS WHEATLEY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS, AUG. 27
August 24, 2001
The Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department
will distribute book bags and school supplies to students at
Phillis Wheatley Elementary School, 1801 N.W. First Place,
at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27.
Department personnel gathered donations from employees,
private and civic organizations and county agencies as part
of their "Corrections Cares &endash; Back to School"
campaign for underprivileged children. Book bags, notebooks,
paper, rulers, pencils, pens, erasers, staplers,
construction paper, pencil sharpeners, appointment booklets
and rain coats are among the items that will be
distributed.
