M-DCPS PRINCIPAL WINS NATIONAL AWARD

August 9, 2001

Pamela Sanders-White, principal of Orchard Villa Elementary School, was recently awarded the prestigious Patrick Francis Daly Memorial Award for Excellence in Educational Leadership. Sanders-White was among nine recipients honored nationally by the Comer School Development Program of Yale University's Child Study Center. She is the sixth Miami-Dade County Public Schools principal to have received this honor within the past five years.

The Patrick Francis Daly Award was named for the New York City principal who lost his life while going to the aid of a child. It is presented annually to a few select principals across the nation.
