SERVICE PUTS HOMEWORK HELP JUST A FEW DIGITS AWAY

October 18, 2001

Old-timers who think they had it tougher when they were kids are right. Thanks to Dial-A-Teacher, a service of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, today's students find homework help right at their fingertips.

Be it via Internet at
www.dial-a-teacher.com or on the phone at 305-995-1600 between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, students can find a certified teacher waiting to answer their homework questions. And if they tune into Cable-TAP Channel 37 from 5-6 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, they can see their homework lessons taught live on interactive television.

For the past 15 years, Dial-A-Teacher has been a free service of Miami-Dade County Public Schools in cooperation with the United Teachers of Dade and WLRN-TV. It offers help in most subjects, provided by certified public school teachers.

Bilingual help is also available.
