M-DCPS STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN EARTH PLEDGE April 25, 2001 Students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will join students throughout the western hemisphere in a song pledge to respect the earth on Friday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m. WLRN-FM (91.3) will broadcast "The Pledge (An Earth Anthem)" on its "Topical Currents" program for students to sing along with. M-DCPS music teachers have already received CD copies of the song in English, Spanish, Creole and Portuguese. The pledge will be held in cooperation with the Earthman Project, Inc., a non-profit organization that uses music and the arts as tools to teach children and adults that each one can make a difference on earth. The Earthman Project is the brainchild of environmental educator Lanny Smith. Persons wishing to join in the effort may tune into WLRN or obtain the music from the website, at www.Earthman.tv.
