STUDENTS RECEIVE HANDHELD COMPUTERS FROM PALM, INC.

Students at G.W. Carver Middle School and South Miami Middle School
will receive Palm Pilot handheld computers for use in science classes
as part of a grant from Palm, Inc.
The grant was awarded to the school district's Division of
Instructional Technology and Media Support Services to assist in a
study that will measure the value of handheld computers in the
classroom. The aim of the project is to foster student interest in
science by using the handheld computers, and thus, increase
achievement.
