INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT APPLICATIONS DUE TO SCHOOL BOARD ATTORNEY OCT. 16

Anyone interested in applying for the interim superintendency of Miami-Dade County Public Schools should send a letter of intent and a resume to Johnny Brown, Board Attorney, The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, 1450 N.E. 2nd Ave., Room 400, Miami, Florida 33132.

The deadline for receipt of applications is October 16, 2001, 4:30 p.m.

Minimum qualifications, according to School Board rule 6Gx13- 2A-1.021, include:

  • an earned degree from an accredited college or university (doctorate preferred)

  • evidence of additional training and experience in multi- faceted administration, business management, or closely related fields

  • and experience and training in organizational management, program development, business procedures, finance, setting of priorities, and labor relations, with such experience preferably gained in a large school system, business and/or governmental body.

The Miami-Dade School Board has announced its intention to name an interim superintendent at its Oct. 24 meeting to replace outgoing superintendent Roger C. Cuevas, whose contract was terminated effective Oct.24, 2001.
