The Biscayne Bay Marriott Hotel is sponsoring a project to encourage
attendance and parental participation in Miami-Dade County Public
Schools' prekindergarten programs.
In each of the district's six regions, the hotel and the Marriott
Business Council will provide a pizza party for the prekindergarten
class with the best attendance record from January through May.
Teachers with the most parents attending training workshops will be
rewarded with a certificate for a two-night stay at a Marriott
Hotel.
Most professional educators believe that prekindergarten is crucial
for success in school, particularly for economically disadvantaged
children. They also believe that parental involvement is another key
to educational success. By getting parents involved in their child's
education in prekindergarten, educators hope their interest and
involvement will continue through high school.
The Biscayne Bay Marriott Hotel is the "Dade Partner" of the school
district's Division of Early Childhood Programs. Dade Partners is an
award-winning program that encourages individuals, companies and
organizations to support the public schools.

Administrative Director, Division of Early Childhood Programs, at
