MAST ACADEMY AWARDED $15,000 GRANT

MAST Academy, Miami-Dade County's public marine-themed high school, has been awarded $15,000 from the Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises' Ocean Fund.

The fund gives monetary awards to innovative projects that help improve the marine environment through education. MAST will use the award to create a video instructional guide to prepare teachers and students to experience the "Land SHARC," a mobile marine science lab that nabbed MAST a $50,000 Ocean Fund grant in 1999.
