STUDENTS TO
PARTICIPATE IN MULTICULTURAL EVENT
October 11, 2001
Students from four of Miami-Dade County's public schools
will experience a day of Hispanic culture on Friday, Oct.
12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Citrus Grove Elementary
School, 2121 N.W. 5th St. The day is the first in
a series of events that highlights a multicultural student
exchange program designed to give students the opportunity
to experience different cultures by observing their peers
involved in customs unique to their heritage.
In observance of the September 11th national tragedies, a
salute to local firemen and police, with patriotic music and
flags, will be presented.
Students visiting Citrus Grove tomorrow are from Ludlam,
Charles R. Drew and Phyllis R. Miller elementary
schools. Each of the four schools hosts a
multicultural day during the school year. Other cultures to
be explored will include American, African-American and
Haitian.
For more information, contact Dr. Robert Russell, principal
of Citrus Grove Elementary, at 305-642-4141.
