MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO OPEN AS USUAL TOMORROW

September 11, 2001

6 p.m.

Miami-Dade's public schools will open tomorrow as usual.

Superintendent Roger C. Cuevas reported that schools ran smoothly today in the wake of apparent terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.

"As the nation reeled from the shock of today's tragedies, our schools helped keep our students calm and lent a sense of order to our community," Cuevas said. "I'm sure our schools will play the same role tomorrow and in the days to come."

For updates, students and parents are encouraged to:

  • call their schools directly

  • call 305-995-1900 for recorded information

  • tune in to WLRN-TV, Channel 17, and WLRN-FM, 91.3

  • or visit the school district's online news room at www.dadeschoolsnews.net.
