M-DCPS STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN VIDEOCONFERENCES, NOV. 14

Miami-Dade County Public Schools students will participate in two Worldlink videoconferences on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in honor of International Education Week.

From 8-9 a.m., students from William H. Turner Technical Arts Senior High School and Miami Lakes Educational Center will speak with students from Pretoria, South Africa in a conference on cultural and educational perspectives hosted by the U.S. Embassy in South Africa. Planned topics for discussion include terrorism, sports and technology. Mr. Bryant J. Salter, Director of Africa Trade Expansion with Enterprise Florida's Division of International Trade, and Miami-Dade Commissioner Barbara Carey-Schuler will be the conference's special guests.

From 9-10 a.m., Carver Middle School's German language program students will interact with their counterparts in Germany in a videoconference hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Berlin. Students will have the opportunity to discuss current affairs and work on their language skills. Special guest for the conference will be Dr. Volker Anding, Consul General.
