OUTSTANDING SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS TO BE HONORED ON MAY 14 May 7, 2001 Outstanding school volunteers will be honored at a ceremony starting at 10 a.m Monday, May 14 at the Radisson Mart Centre Hotel, 711 N.W. 72 Avenue. Top volunteers for Miami-Dade County's public schools will be recognized in the following categories: youth (ages 20 and under); adult (21-61); and senior (62 or older). Recent statistics show that more than 29,000 citizens donate 3.3 million annual hours of service to the school system. Nearly 70 percent of volunteers are parents.
