BRAZILIAN DESIGNERS HUMBERTO AND FERNANDO CAMPANA
TO CONDUCT WORKSHOPS ON INFLATABLE DESIGN AT DASH

January 31, 2002

Renowned Brazilian furniture designers Humberto and Fernando Campana will present a three-day hands-on workshop on inflatable design at Design & Architecture Senior High School (DASH) from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday (Feb. 4-6).

Twenty DASH students and 10 from Florida International University will work with the designers and two F IU professors, Gisela López-Mata of the Architecture Department and Dennis Jenkins, Director of Interior Design.

Sponsored by Marianne and David Russell of Arango, Inc., the contemporary furniture and design store at Dadeland Mall, the workshop will culminate with the students designing their own objects under the direction of the Campana brothers, whose whimsical and ecologically conscious furniture designs have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and in other major museums in the U.S., South America and Europe.

Located in the Miami Design District at 4001 N.E. 2 Ave., DASH is an award-winning magnet school with a curriculum in architecture, industrial design, fashion design, visual communications and entertainment technologies. For more information, contact Tracy Regan at 305-573-7135.
