PLAQUE TO HONOR SLAIN STUDENT TO BE DEDICATED FEB. 8

A bronze plaque honoring slain student Mayra Capote will be
dedicated on Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at Hialeah-Miami Lakes
Senior High School, 7977 W. 12 Ave., Hialeah. Capote was
killed in an auto accident in September 1999 while returning
to school after lunch.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools currently is on track with
plans to close all campuses at lunchtime by 2004, requiring
students to remain at school during mealtimes.
