FIRE DAMAGE KEEPS GLORIA FLOYD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLOSED
June 10, 2002
Due to a fire that occurred June 7, Gloria Floyd Elementary
School, 12650 S.W. 109 Ave., will remain closed through June
12, the last day of school. Students will continue to be
transported to Leewood Elementary School, 10343 S.W. 124
St., and William H. Lehman Elementary School, 10990 S.W.
113 Place. Arrangements have been made to avoid any
disruption in food service.
The early-morning fire did extensive damage to a classroom,
and smoke damage does not permit students and staff to
return to the building at this time. Gloria Floyd
Elementary has 820 students and a staff of 70.
