M-DCPS GIRLS TO LEARN WITH THE SOL February 1, 2002 Hundreds of M-DCPS students will participate in the Miami SOL's second annual National Girls & Women In Sports Day celebration on Monday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m - 1 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd. SOL players and staff will lead participants through nine skill stations highlighting basketball playing techniques such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Talks will be given on nutrition and conditioning. At noon, students will join a discussion on "The Business of Basketball," focusing on the women in the front offices of professional sports including the team's legal counsel, player services and more.
