PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL PARENT PROGRAM FEB. 11

February 7, 2002

Many Miami-Dade County public schools will offer activities in observance of the seventh annual National African American Parent Involvement Day's (NAAPID) "Take Your Child To School/Visit Your Child in School" Day on Monday, February 11.

Established in public schools in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1995, NAAPID's goal is to provide greater opportunity for urban parents to become more involved in their children's education. Observed on the second Monday of February each year, the day is a call to action and the setting aside of a common time for parents to visit their children at school.
