PROUD PEACE AWARDS TO BE HELD MAY 16 May 13, 2002 Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Department of Cultural Diversity/Intergroup Relations will present its Proud Peace Awards 2002 ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 16 in the auditorium of MAST Academy, 3979 Rickenbacker Causeway. The awards honor those outstanding students, sponsors and schools who have excelled in implementing the school district's conflict resolution/management project, PROUD (Peacefully Resolving Our Unsettled Differences). This year, for the first time, the Korean-American Community Council Scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has worked diligently throughout his or her high school career to promote peace and understanding in their school.
