2,100 STUDENTS TO ATTEND SAFETY AND CAREER DAY MAY 10

More than 2,100 students from 45 Miami-Dade public middle schools will attend the fourth annual State of Florida Safety and Career Day on Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. at the State of Florida Regional Service Center, 401 N.W. 2nd Ave., Miami.

The event is organized to provide young students with information on personal safety issues and on career opportunities in government. More than 100 organizations, including the Miami-Dade Health Department, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), the Professional Law Enforcement Association and the Florida departments of transportation, banking and finance, and insurance, will be represented.

Local elected officials, including School Board Members, are expected to attend. The State of Florida Safety and Career Day Committee is a partnership of State of Florida employees in Miami-Dade, M-DCPS and a variety of municipal, county and federal government agencies.
