M-DCPS STUDENT WINS PRESTIGIOUS SCIENCE AWARD

Brandi Cossairt, a senior at MAST Academy, was the winner of the Siemens Westinghouse Science and Technology Award for the Southern Region. She presented her original research paper, A Study of the Hydroxyl Radical, at the Georgia Institute of Technology in December, competing against 12 other semifinalists.

The award recognizes remarkable and talented students who challenge themselves through scientific research. Another MAST Academy student, Francisco Fantes, also presented a research paper.
