WORLD TRADE CENTER PRESIDENT TO VIDEOCONFERENCE WITH M-DCPS STUDENTS VIA INTERNET

May 20, 2002

World Trade Centers Association (WCTA) President Guy Tozzoli will videoconference with Miami-Dade County Public Schools students via the Internet from 9-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 in room 337 of the School Board Administration Building Annex, 1500 Biscayne Blvd.

The interactive WorldLink roundtable, titled Focusing On Our Future: Peace and Stability Through World Trade, will be held in observance of World Trade Week, May 20-24. It is designed to help students focus on their future in world trade and travel following the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedies. Students also will discuss how Miami is prepared against terrorist threats to its infrastructure and business community.

Tozzoli, a Nobel Prize nominee, was stuck in traffic on the day of the tragedies and watched from his car as the second of two airplanes struck New York City's World Trade Center. Tozzoli was instrumental in building the complex and kept offices there. As President of WTCA since its inception in 1970, Tozzoli has established more than 300 World Trade Centers in nearly 100 countries worldwide.

WorldLink, now in its third year, continues to create challenging distance learning programs on global issues and concerns for future leaders. For more information, contact WorldLink Director Sondra Snowdon at 305-861-8634.
