400 MIAMI-DADE STUDENTS TO GET FREE SCHOOL UNIFORMS
August 17, 2004
Four hundred needy students from three Miami-Dade County
public schools will have free school uniforms this year,
thanks to a Miami retailer and a New York-based apparel
company.
Eddie Blanco, owner of Miami's Kids for Less store, and
representatives of New York's Longstreet clothing company
will present 400 coupons Thursday, Aug. 19, 12:30 p.m.
during ceremonies at Henry M. Flagler Elementary School,
5222 N.W. First Street.
The coupons, redeemable at Kids for Less, will go to
selected students of Flagler, F.S. Tucker and Frederick
Douglass elementary schools.
This is the first year that this nationwide "Community
Partnership Program" has come to Miami, following a series
of similar giveaways in key cities around the country.
