
SEVEN FINALISTS VIE FOR MIAMI-DADE'S TEACHER OF THE YEAR
AWARD
January 15, 2004
Miami-Dade County Public Schools' most outstanding teacher
will be named at the annual Francisco R. Walker Golden Apple
Teacher of the Year Ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at
the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel, 711 N.W. 72 Ave., Miami.
Tickets for the event are $39 per person or $390 for a table
of 10.
Seven finalists have been nominated from the system's six
ACCESS Centers and its Office of Adult/Vocational,
Alternative Education & Dropout Prevention. The
nominees, the grades or subjects they teach, and their
schools are as follows:

The banquet is
a joint venture between the United Teachers of Dade, the
Parent-Teachers Association and Miami-Dade County Public
Schools. Velda Farms is sponsoring the event. Co-sponsors
include Univision Channel 23, TeleFutura Channel 69 and Nova
Southeastern University.
