THREE M-DCPS HIGH SCHOOLS ARE NAMED RISE TO RIGOR SCHOOLS

MIAMI - Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Booker T. Washington, Homestead and Miami Edison senior high schools all received the designation of Rise to Rigor schools from the Division of Advanced Academic Programs and the College Board. They are the first three Miami-Dade schools to receive this title, raising the total to 19 in the State of Florida.

The program is designed to encourage enrollment in rigorous courses, increase the access to College Board resources and prepare all students for the next level after graduation. The College Board will also assign a consultant to each of these schools to support the objectives and strategies of the program.

The hope is to change the attitude towards education while making ‘rigor’ a state of mind.
