SIX FINALISTS VIE FOR MIAMI-DADE'S TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD

MIAMI Miami-Dade County Public Schools' most outstanding educator will be named at the annual Francisco R. Walker Miami-Dade County Teacher of the Year District Recognition Ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel, 711 N.W. 72 Ave., Miami. Tickets are $39 per person or $390 for a table of 10.

Finalists have been nominated from each of the district's six regions. The nominees, the grades or the subjects they teach, and their schools are:

The Teacher of the Year Program is a joint venture between United Teachers of Dade, Dade County Council PTA/PTSA and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Velda Farms is sponsoring the event.
