M-DCPS HOSTS ANNUAL CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH CONFERENCE
MIAMI – Parents of special needs children who want to find new and better ways to help them will benefit from the Fourteenth Annual Children’s Mental Health Conference,Linking Forces, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28 at the Radisson Miami Hotel, 1601 Biscayne Blvd.
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools Office of Exceptional Student Education and Student Services’ Multiagency Network for Students with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SEDNET), in cooperation with community mental health agencies, will host the conference.
The conference will feature 63 workshops and 52 exhibits and offer a comprehensive view of children’s mental health issues. It also will present innovative strategies for high-risk groups, creative partnerships and advocacy efforts.
The conference is free for parents of students in Exceptional Student Education programs. The cost for others is $60 for the two days, or $30 for one.
