PRINCIPALS, PTA WORKSHOPS TO INCREASE
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

MIAMI— School principals will join forces with Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Parent-Student-Teacher Association (PTSA) presidents in two workshops hosted by School Board Member Evelyn Langlieb Greer with the goal of strengthening schools by promoting and supporting parental involvement, one of the school district’s top priorities.

“Parents are the heart and soul of a successful PTSA, and a successful PTSA is the heart and soul of a successful school,” said Greer.

The first workshop will take place 4 – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Miami Southridge Senior High School, 19355 SW 114 Ave. This workshop will gather principals and PTA/PTSA presidents from the feeder patterns for Miami Palmetto, Miami Southridge and Coral Reef senior high schools.

The second workshop will take place 4 – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at South Dade Senior High School, 28401 SW 167 Ave. Principals and PTA/PTSA presidents from Homestead and South Dade senior high schools will participate in this workshop.
