ROVING PRESS CONFERENCE CAMPAIGN
TO PROMOTE STUDENT SAFETY

WHO:          State Sen. Frederica Wilson, School Board Vice-chair Robert B. Ingram,                    Miami-Dade Schools Police Chief Gerald Darling and local dignitaries

WHAT:        5000 Role Models of Excellence Project will hold a Roving Press Conference                    campaign titled, “Sexual Crimes, Accepting a Ride from a Stranger.”

WHEN:        Friday, Feb. 25, 8-11:30 a.m.

WHERE:      American Senior High School, 18350 N.W. 67th Ave., 8-8:30 a.m.

                   Miami Carol City Senior High School, 3422 N.W. 187th St., 9-9:30 a.m.

                    Miami Norland Senior High School, 1050 N.W. 195th St., 10-10:30 a.m.

                   Dr. Michael Krop Senior High School, 1410 N.E. 215th St., 11-11:30 a.m.

WHY:          Statistics show an increasing number of high school-age, female students in                    the North Dade area have been victims of kidnapping, robbery and sexual                    assaults as a result of accepting rides from strangers.
