'ANCHORS AWAY' PROGRAM SETS SAIL WITH DISABLED STUDENTS
AT THE HELM
WHO: Disabled students from Miami-Dade County Public
Schools (M-DCPS), over 100 community leaders, led by
Florida State Sen. Gwen Margolis

WHAT: Disabled students will set sail on specially
crafted access dinghies. All students are participants in
the new M-DCPS Marine Academy, created to be a fully
inclusive career development path for the marine
industry. Students and community leaders will gather to
"christen" seven access dinghies, small boats built in
Australia and designed to give disabled students the
freedom to sail their own boats, no matter what their
disabilities.
